Leonard J. Swinyer, M.D., FAAD
Dr. Swinyer, a native of Vermont, obtained his medical degree at the University
of Vermont. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine
and pathology at the University of Utah prior to joining the US Navy as
Chief Pathologist at Quantico Naval Hospital. He then completed a dermatology
residency at the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center. He is board
certified in both Dermatology and Dermatopathology.
Dr. Swinyer was the founding president of both the Intermountain Dermatologic
Society and the Utah Dermatology Society and is a Clinical Professor of
Dermatology at the University of Utah. He opened his private practice
in 1973. In 1979 he started the Dermatology Research Center where he tests
dermatology products for the pharmaceutical industry. He has received
many awards, including the national “Practitioner of the Year”
in 2006 and awards from the American Academy of Dermatology, specifically
the Golden Triangle Award in 2009 and a Presidential Citation in 2010.
Dr. Swinyer has published multiple articles and has co-authored The Colored
Atlas of Dermatology Volumes 1 and 2 which has now been published in three
languages. His wide collection of dermatologic photographs has been used
by dermatologists worldwide.
Dr. Swinyer enjoys magic, boating, golfing and traveling with his wife,
Thalia, an RN who worked with him for 38 years. They have two children
and four wonderful grandchildren.
Douglas M. Woseth, M.D., FAAD
Originally from Minnesota, Dr. Woseth attended the University of Chicago
for undergraduate, medical school and internship, and completed his Dermatology
Residency at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Woseth is certified
by the American Board of Dermatology and has extensive expertise in general,
surgical (including Mohs surgery) and aesthetic dermatology. Before his
arrival in Salt Lake City, Dr. Woseth was in private practice in Orange
County, California where he also served as a volunteer Clinical Associate
Professor of Dermatology at the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Woseth has served as the President of the Utah Dermatology Society
from 2010 to 2012. He conducts clinical research as an investigator with
the Dermatology Research Center and is an adjunct instructor of Dermatology
at the University of Utah. He has received numerous academic and professional
honors and awards. Dr. Woseth is a fellow member of the American Academy
of Dermatology, American Society for Mohs Surgery, and American Society
for Dermatologic Surgery and is a member of the Intermountain and Utah
Dermatologic Societies. In his spare time, Dr. Woseth loves to travel.
He speaks Spanish and Turkish.
Angela K. Brimhall, DO, FAOCD, FAAD
Dr. Brimhall completed medical school at the University of North Texas
after finishing an undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University. During
medical school, she earned a Masters Degree in Clinical Research. She
continued her training at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland,
Ohio where she successfully completed her Dermatology Residency and an
internship in Internal Medicine.
In her final year, she was selected among her peers to serve as administrative
Chief Resident. She has published multiple articles and received many
awards for her contributions.
Dr. Brimhall, an Idaho native, is delighted to return to the Rocky Mountains
and enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with her husband Jeff and
their three children.
Michael R. Swinyer, P.A.-C.
Mike obtained his Bachelor´s Degree from the University of Utah and
worked as a certified clinical coordinator in dermatology for six years.
In 2004 he completed his Master´s Degree as a Physician Assistant
at the University of Utah. He worked at the Veteran´s Hospital prior
to joining our practice. He and his wife Dominique live in South Jordan
and have two children.
Alisa Thompson-Seeberger, F.N.P.-C
Alisa Thompson-Seeberger is a native of Salt Lake City, Utah. She received
her associate degree in Nursing from Weber State University (Ogden, Utah)
in 1990. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
from the University of Utah (Salt Lake City) in 1994. During her training
at the University of Utah, she completed a 120-hour internship in the
Department of Dermatology. In 2007 she received her Master's degree
as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Westminster College (Salt Lake City).
She is nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Upon completing her Family Nurse Practitioner degree in 2007, she left
Primary Children's Medical Center after 20 years of service to work
as a Nurse Practitioner in the specialty of Dermatology. Her dermatology
experience includes the department of dermatology, Intermountain Healthcare
Clinic (Sandy, Utah), and South Valley Dermatology (West Jordan, Utah).
In her free time, Alisa enjoys traveling and all outdoor activities including
skate-skiing, hiking and cycling. She is an avid cyclist (road and mountain).
She currently competes for the Intermountain Cup (A Regional Mountain
Bike Racing Series). She lives in South Jordan, Utah with her husband
and is the proud mother of two daughters and three step children.
Shane Farr, P.A.-C.
Shane was born and raised in the Salt Lake Valley. He attended the University
of Utah where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in human development and
family studies. He was admitted to Idaho State University where he earned
a Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to going to graduate
school he worked as a Medical Assistant for 2 ½ years right here
in this office! He is very excited to be working here again.
When not at work he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids. He also
loves being in the great outdoors, camping, hiking, hunting, fishing,
and playing sports.
