Spotlight on Dr. Swinyer

Dr. Leonard J. Swinyer, M.D., FAAD is board certified in Dermatology and Dermatopathology. He received his medical degree from the University of Vermont and has completed residencies at the University of Utah and the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center. Dr. Swinyer has served as the U.S. Navy’s Chief Pathologist at Quantico Naval Hospital and is the founding president of two dermatologic societies. He continues to act as a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of Utah. His accomplishments include opening the Dermatology Research Center in 1979 and co-authoring The Colored Atlas of Dermatology volumes 1 and 2. Dr. Swinyer is the recipient of multiple awards, including the 2006 national “Practitioner of the Year” and the American Academy of Dermatology’s 2009 Golden Triangle award.
